6th Grade Choir

The Macomb 6th Grade Choir meets daily at Edison school at 8:00am. The choir is made up of nearly 95 students and performs in four major concerts throughout the year as well as in-school assemblies. In addition to their regular performances, members of the 6th grade choir have participated in WIU Opera Theatre's production of Hansel and Gretel, District Four ILMEA Festivals, WIU Holliday Festival Children's Choir and other community events.

6th Grade Choir focuses on ensemble singing in two and three parts. We work on basic vocal technique, body position, breathing, and score reading skills through out chosen seasonal repertoire and sight reading activities. Many of our 6th Grade Choir members also participate in 6th Grade Band and other musical activities in the community.

6th Grade Choir is a curricular part of the school day. Students are assigned grades based on daily participation, concert performances, and in-class assignments.
