If your child's medical condition has changed since you sent in the medical form, please inform me. We need to know if any student has a medical condition of which we need to be aware including any prescription drugs they may be taking. Also, students occasionally get motion sickness on the charter bus. Please give your child motion sickness pills to take on the trip if you think this is a possibility. Chaperones should hold any prescription or over the counter medicine for safety. Thank you for your help with this!
Please put the medicine that students need in marked baggies or bottles with dosage information inside and give to the head chaperone of the group. Also, even if your son/daughter has never suffered from motion sickness, watching movies on the bus and the excitement of the day make even the heartiest of travelers a little queasy. Please feel free to pack any pain relief that may be needed and give to the small group leader.
We encourage students to bring healthy, non-messy snacks for the bus. The bus drivers do not allow sugary drinks or ice cream items on the bus, however, water bottles; trail mix, crackers, and other snacks are welcome (within reason).
Students will need money for two fast food meals (lunch stop and dinner stop). Please make sure that your child wears casual clothing and is on their best behavior for the trip. If you would like to see what the mall has to offer in terms of restaurants, visit the mall web site.
Teachers and Chaperones reserve the right to view or confiscate any items purchased.
Students may choose to bring movies to view on the bus. Students can only watch G or PG movies on the bus. The chaperones will check the movies prior to viewing and have the right to veto any movie regardless of rating.
Only PG or G movies will be allowed to be viewed on the bus (even on personal DVD players). No exceptions! The buses are equipped with DVDs and VCR capability.
JH students must stay with a chaperone the entire day. This is imperative as we must know where the children are at all times. HS students are permitted to walk around the mall in groups of two or more, but must check in with their chaperone periodically. No switching groups at the theatre or bus seats will be permitted.
The group directors and chaperones reserve the right to inspect backpacks, bags, coats, etc for any "non school approved" items. As a rule, if something is not allowed at school, it should not be brought on the trip. The exception to this is electronic devices which may be brought at the student's own risk.
Students should wear nice clothes for this event. Please no jeans or tennis shoes.
All school rules apply on the trip. Students can be given office referrals for any infractions that violate school rules.
