The minutes of the December meeting were sent out on line, but a copy was not available at the meeting. The January meeting was canceled due to winter weather.
The treasurer's report was given by Donella. Erin had a bill for the buses to go to see Billy Elliott. Four buses had been reserved, but two will be released, as only 2 will be needed to take the students to the musical. The treasurer's report was approved by Cheryl and seconded by Cindy.
Cindy gave a report on the preparations for the dessert auction. She said that more dessert forms had been returned and everything was under control.
Solo and Ensemble Contests are coming up soon: The Jr High students will go to Meredosia on Feb 20th, and the High School Students will travel to Barry on March 6th. Both buses will load at 6:00 am Chaperons are still needed.
The spring musical is Billy Elliott in Chicago. Only 2 buses will be needed. Chaperones will pay $50 for each ticket. Donella needs invoices for the tickets and the buses.
All State was a great success and the students appreciated their gifts of music folders or pitch pipes. Melanie has a thank you note from them. Becca needs money to pay for the meal that was shared with the band on Wednesday evening.
Erin and Melanie said that we need to decide how much to pay Sharon Nott for her services at the dessert auction and for Solo and Ensemble; Erin made a motion to pay her $400. It was seconded by Becca and passed unanimously.
The Large Group Contests are coming up in the spring, and Macomb will be hosting both the Jr High contest on Saturday, May 1st, and the High School contest on Friday, April 16th. Becca will check with the Band Boosters to see if they are interested in working at the concession stand for the high school event, and possibly the PTO will provide food for the Jr High event. Cheryl offered to be the Helper Coordinator for the Jr High contest. A HS coordinator needs to be found.
Erin reported that 6 folding black stools used by the Swing Choir disappeared from the backstage area and need to be replaced. She has priced them at $10-15 each, and she would like to buy 8 of them. Cheryl made a motion to allow Erin to buy the stools. Marilyn seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
