Macomb Choir Boosters Monthly Meeting Minutes, December 2009

Members present: Melanie Butcher, Erin Stegall, Cheryl McGowen, Cindy Roon, Kathy Burdick, Jamie Lane, Donella Anderson, Marilyn Olsen, Sheryl Hansen, Jennifer Rabchak, Dee Kirwin

The meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by Kathy Burdick, vice president.The secretary's report was approved after the following corrections and additions were made: 1)The district choral festival's junior high concert was held at 2:30 on November 7th. 2) The 2nd and 3rd place choir letterhead contest winners received $5.00 gift certificates to the Old Dairy, not cash. 3) The production of the Music Man will be on April 9,10, and 11th, not on the 8,9, and 10th.

The treasurer's report was presented in printed form by Donella Anderson. The major expenses last month were for the Nick Page concerts.

Under Old Business, Sheryl Hansen reported that approx 1200 poinsettias were sold.

Melanie presented a sample of the new choir letterhead. Everyone liked the top logo and size, but agreed that the quote at the bottom should be smaller, and that the choir website should be added to the bottom.

Under New Business, Erin reported that Cheryl Baker will not be able to help with the dessert auction due to her work schedule. Cindy Roon offered to help Dee Kirwan. It was proposed that the informational letter that will be sent out on Jan 22 should make it clearer that pizza and subs are available for dinner. Also it was suggested that we have more $5.00 items available on the sale table. Someone suggested that the auction items be started at lower prices, and to try to keep the auction moving faster so the students do not have to wait so long on the risers.

The choir trip to Chicago on April 24th to see Billy Elliott will cost $125 per student. Payment is due on Dec 15th. We will post the discount that students earned with the poinsettia sales on our website so parents will know how much the students owe.

Gift certificates for accompanists and choreographers will be as follows: Sharon Nott $100, Michael Murphy $50, Megan Ervin and Erika Johnson $25 each.

Melanie still needs adult chaperones for the Holiday Festival of Choirs to help monitor the crowd.

Melanie reported that choir pictures will be taken before the concert on Dec 9th. Also the pick-up choir group, the Jazzy Jingles, will be singing at 4 places on Saturday, Dec 5th for Dickens on the square. She will hand out notes about this in class.
