The Macomb Choir Boosters Meeting was called to order at 5:00 pm by President, John Meixner.
In Jamie Lane's absence, we printed and read the secretary's report from September, 2009. There was a motion to approve the Secretary's report by Cheryl McGowan and it was seconded by Kathy Burdick.
Treasurer's report was presented by Donella Anderson. We have had a few new members and not a great amount of activity (some bills paid, new members). We are waiting on the bill for the Macomb Music Shirts. Cheryl McGowan moved to approve the Secretary's report and it was again seconded by Kathy Burdick.
There was a need to pick up Nick Page from the Peoria Airport on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:20 am CheryI Baker's parents, Barb and Ken Miller, are going to pick him up. In terms of the reception, Marilyn Olsen, hospitality coordinator, reported that she is having a punch and cookies reception. The time of the October 21st concert has been changed to 7:00 pm
Publicity for Nick Page – Lincoln is sending home a flyer for their "sing" on Thursday, October 22nd. We might look into an announcement on Webpage or a Family Access notification. Mrs. Musick and Amber Dodds (Concerts…)
High School…
District Choir auditions were discussed. We have plenty of chaperones for the auditions on Monday, October 12th and if they make it the festival is Saturday, November 7th. The Olympic Conference Choral Festival is Oct. 26th (Monday). Chaperones are Peppi Kenny and Sheryl Hansen.
Sheryl Hansen reported on the Poinsettia Sales. She is asking for Volunteers for collecting Money on the days of the order drop off (November 10th) and the day of Delivery (December 1st) . On November 10th, shifts will correspond with when the grade level choirs meet. The sale will go from Tuesday, October 27th – Tuesday, November 10th.
The 6th – 12th grade choir incentive trip is the musical Billy Elliot on Saturday, April 24th in Chicago, Illinois. There was discussion about having the parents pay part or whole of the cost of the trip. The choir boosters could be a buffer and pay for any unused seats on the bus. The Boosters agreed that the adults would pay part of the cost.
The cost of a choir room printer was discussed. We are waiting for quotes and administrative approval. The Boosters approved $1000.00 to buy choral music to fill a need brought on my budget cuts. We are going to have a contest for the students to design a logo and we will give an I tunes gift card to the winner. The non refund of a scholarship was discussed. John is going to write a letter to them asking for the money. Jennifer Rabchuk agreed to be the membership chairperson.
